Our approach supports equity-seeking communities through exposure to volunteer experiences, inclusive mentorships, and empowering workshops. The initiative offers a youth-centred and informed approach that is aware of the various challenges facing youth in the labour market. We aim to address these challenges while raising public awareness.
We offer volunteer placement opportunities for youth at various businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Youth will complete placements of 120 hours, leading to higher employability potential and increased skill development. Participants will have access to mentorship and networking opportunities, empowerment workshops, etc.
This program aims to provide diverse youth ages 15-30 years opportunities for civic engagement and positive personal growth. This growth will impact their socio-economic, health and well-being, allowing them to develop new life skills and participate with their full potential in the job market.
Youth aged 15-30 from the Durham Region can participate in volunteer placement opportunities, including newcomers, immigrants, racialized and marginalized youth from diverse backgrounds. Youth will be matched to placements based on their interests, work and educational experiences.

It feels so good to have someone to talk to; someone who understands the issue and sensitive to my feelings. I am always looking forward to coming to my counselling session every week!
Today I hesitated quite a bit before coming to this session. I contemplated cancelling the appointment but here I am leaving a different individual from the one who walked in. I feel so much lighter after my session. These counselling sessions present an opportunity to feel free and clear my mind of negative and other thoughts of hopelessness.
This agency was there for me in the early nineties when majority of the community did not know how to deal with a Muslim woman like me, for that I will always be grateful.
